As the president of Xi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc,, thank you for visiting our website. Our chapter was established on
June 11, 1983, and has been serving Upper Montgomery County, Maryland for over 40 years.

The current theme of our international sorority is Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood. As you peruse our website, you will be able to
see how we partner with our community to implement the sorority initiatives – Empower Our Families, Build Our Economic Wealth, Enhance
Our Environment, Advocate for Social Justice and Uplift Our
Local Community.

Xi Sigma Omega has always been known as the chapter with a heart. 
In keeping with that sentiment, we continually strive to provide
“Service from the Heart” to benefit and support our community.

On Saturday, June 11, 1983, Xi Sigma Omega became the second chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in Montgomery County, MD. Being aware of the difference in needs, concerns and socioeconomic levels in Montgomery County, we were convinced that an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® presence in the upper part of the county would make a positive impact in community service.

We implement initiatives in the local area as prescribed by our international organization by addressing issues related to our 2022-2026 international theme: Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood. 

Our initiatives revolve around issues such as strenghtening our bonds to support our service mission, as weempower our families, build our economic wealth, enhance our environment, advocate for social justice, and uplift our local community.

Established in 2014, POHCF is a 501(c)(3) entity in the State of Maryland. POHCF is committed to the successful implementation of programs established to meet the needs of our communities.

All members of Xi Sigma Omega Chapter are members of The Pearls of Hope Community Foundation.
